Well, not so sunny, actually pretty cloudy, but still beautiful, and yes it is Florida.

Tropical Landscape Painting, Coastal Wall Decor, Palm Trees on the Shoreline, Tropical Giclee Print On Canvas
You would think that with everyone staying at home , with our activities curtailed, that time would drag. I find it to be just the opposite.
So, time flew for me, and for most of the year, I had no time or inclination to paint. Finally, I am back in the studio!
It is very reassuring for me to get back to normal activity, in at least one aspect of my life.
I hope your finding a little silver lining in your life too.
Everglades Storm, Abstract Landscape, Textured Art, Palette Knife Painting
In the tropics, the storms come in quickly and violently! This large landscape painting attempts to convey the power and drama of these events.

I painted with a palette knife and tried to keep all the strokes visible and strong.
Some areas have extremely thick paint.
This was a study for a 48x60" piece that I painted.

Tropical Landscape Painting, Daily Painting, Florida Painting, "Conchy Joe's" by Carol Schiff, 16x20" Oil
Everybody loves tropical landscape, especially me! This painting is from a few years back and depicts a much beloved part of our community. "Conchy Joe's" was a seafood eatery located on the banks of the intracoastal waterway.
The original has sold, but I am pleased to be able to offer a giclee print at the link under the image.
The eatery is still there, but under a new name and for me, much of the charm has been lost. I am glad I painted this scene, while it was a popular and vibrant location, filled with local memorabilia.
This painting was featured as the Art Works poster art several years ago.
Thank you for viewing my blog today.

Rose Trellis Oil Painting, Garden Painting, 8x8x1.5" Small Landscape
I have always had a vision of the perfect garden, and it has always included a rose trellis. Alas, it is not to be, for me. But, I can paint one!
Actually, now that I think about it, this is much more my style. No maintenance required!
Have a rosy day!

Fall Landscape Tree Painting, Small Oil Painting,SOLD, Daily Painting, 9x12 Autumn Painting, SOLD
I might have lived in Florida, but in the fall, I want to see orange and red trees. So I always headed to North Carolina for my autumn fix. Well technically, it is still autumn!
I call this painting "Big Brother" for obvious reasons. It was really the small dogwood tree that caught my eye. How could I miss it....right outside my window?
Fall colors can be so bright, it is easy to overdue them in paintings. My goal here was to paint something believable even though my eyes and my brain we telling me it could be brighter.
Thanks for visiting today!

It brings back memories of a trip I took to New Orleans last year. We spent the day driving through the surrounding countryside and toured two plantations that bordered the Mississippi levy.
As you can imagine, the grounds were stunning, but I couldn't help but think of the slaves who toiled there.

I painted using both a brush and palette knife. I love the texture a palette knife brings to a piece. I think it adds so much interest.

I painted the sides of the canvas black. This garden landscape will work well either framed or unframed.
Don't forget to pin it, please.
