Mountain Wildflowers, Floral Landscape, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 8x6" Oil on Panel SOLD

Last fall, we took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It was a crisp, sunny day and my camera was busy clicking away.

SOLD

It's hard to go wrong with a blue and yellow painting.....it just shouts "Cheerful".  The background was painted  with a brush, but I used a palette knife on the flowers and grasses.  That's when it started to be really fun!

I feel like I was able to capture the feel of the day......I hope it made you smile!

Appalachia Oil Painting, Blue Ridge Mountains, Summer Landscape, 11x14x1.5" Original

It looks like summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  As our lives change from day to day, Mother Nature is telling us,that all will someday be well.  The earth is surviving very well without us, thank you, and it is up to us humans to change our routines as life will go on, with or without us.

I would prefer it went on with us!

Although the Blue Ridge Parkway was closed, for some time, it is now open and giving people in the area a place to drive and walk and enjoy nature.

This is an 11x14" original oil painting.  The 1.5" deep sides are painted black, allowing it to be hung with or without a frame.

Stay safe!

Mountain Landscape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Original Oil, SOLD

Now that we live in the Smoky Mountains, escaping the heat and humidity of Florida.  The mountain views are impossible to ignore.

When I finish a new little painting, I like to prop it up on the fireplace mantel, where I can see it and live with it for a few days.  If it passes that test, it goes on Etsy.

Fall Landscape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Autumn Trees, 6x8" Oil on Canvas

I posted this last autumn. How did autumn get here so fast?  Time seems to go faster and faster each year.

We have just returned from time in the mountains, rushing home to monitor hurricane season in Florida.  When we return to the mountains, this will be a typical scene.

It is so easy to overdue autumn colors.  Your eye tells you the intense colors are what you are seeing, but when you put it on canvas, it is not believable.  Time to tone it down a touch.  Nature is maybe not quite that bright.

Yesterday's News, Coastal Landscape, Florida Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting

The waterways of Florida are littered with abandoned boats, that have been destroyed by the hurricanes of the last few years. Unscrupulous owners, remove the boat registrations, walk away with their insurance money, and leave it to the counties to remove the damaged boats. In most cases, the counties do not have funds, so the boats sit in the waters.

Floral Landscape | Small Oil Painting | Daily Painting | Garden Walk by Carol Schiff | 6x8" Original SOLD

I have always had visions of the perfect flower garden in my head and this small oil painting really captures it.  A white picket fence, an abundance of flowers, bee's buzzing...something like a Disney garden with no weeds allowed.

SOLD
When I saw this garden, in front of a charming cottage in North Carolina Blue Ridge Mts., it was like a dream come true.  Of course, I had to paint it.

I am not blessed with a green thumb, so this was as close as I could get to my fantasy.  I hope you enjoy it!

When I first moved to Florida, I remember going to a plant nursey and the owner said to me "You are in the land of milk and honey, everything grows here."  Not true!  In the summer, it is so hot, my plants die or struggle to survive.  This year we have had so much rain, everything has rotted!  Now, Washington State, British Columbia, England....that is where beautiful flowers grow!
